How do u select and enter by using WASD? I clicked the door but nothing happened.

Just go right out of the screen. That blue thing isn't a door. It is part of your HUD!

Got trapped in a black block at Archimedes's room. Probably because I was hiding behind it after moving the rooms laser block.

Pretty good for my first run though, right?

Having something other than the player able to push things has some unintended effects. I need to write it so the block pushes you and if it pushes you into something maybe I should just make it so it just kills you? I supposed it could just hurt you and push you up instead of against the black box.

That is what happened right? The laser block pushed you into the black box?

The purple block + the laser block.

Anyway, I quite liked the game, although it took some time till I figured out the controls.

I am glad you liked it! It is supposed be more like a caster version of Zelda than it is Gauntlet.

Finally, the long awaited return of "Kellick tries to figure out a simple game!"
  • If you walk into the left side of the block in the first fire hallway, you get stuck.
  • I don't know if this is intentional, but you can't toggle the buttons in the lights out puzzle if they're already turned on.
  • Good that the room where you acquire the fireball spell can always remind you how it works. (I'm also amused that the text's font is in red for this one instance)
  • I'm absolutely garbage at the second fire hallway, but after a few runs.
  • Standing on the info box while the NPC is displaying his "Thanks for reviving me!" message causes the font to switch from white to black, then back to black when you step off the info box.
  • If you run out of mana while fighting the bot(s), you're trapped in the room and have to restart.
  • Can you just not kill Victoria? Or am I just an idiot?

Note: Many of these problems could probably be solved by not being bad at the game.

Yeah the block stuck thing seems like it might be my loot stuck bug. In my version I can't walk through it so maybe it is fixed.

Yeah it is intentionally. When you turn it on it flips the ones adjacent to it. You have to figure out how to flip them all on in order to open the door.

I am not sure what I should do about running out of mana. I want mana conservation to be part of the game especially at bosses. I think it can add an interesting element to the game. Random rooms thought like the one with the bots can be annoying though. I might just make the basic spell mana less and make it so the mana bar doesn't appear until you get the fire ball spell.

Victoria has an armor of 1 so it reduces all incoming damage by 1. The light spell does 1 damage and the fire ball does 4. It is intended that you can't hurt bosses with your basic ability.

The color thing should be fixed in the internal version I have. The way Java works is that you call a graphics class in order to draw images. When you change the color is changes it for all methods used by that class so if I didn't write a line of code for the color before it draws the string it would be the last color it is set at.

Hmm. Maybe I just missed Victoria once, then. I'm assuming you can defeat her if you land all your hits with the fireball spell. Might be I hit the face she summons or something.

I'll go back and see what I can do to defeat her, then come back and report on what lies beyond!

There is a way to get Mana in all boss fights. You just have to figure it out.
