Alright then, so if Shaman's not going the folky route, she's going old-school. Real old-school. Like the My Indian Red by Danny Barker-type of old-school.

And if not 80's pop this time, what about 70's glam? Are you a glam guy, Nonane? I'm thinking of Ballroom Blitz.
Good, you got Shammy.

And while I have BB on my playlist I did not submit it. That is two in a row where you guess songs I like but it's like we're playing battleship and you keep splashing water over my boats but you can't make them go boom.

Halfway through the list now. And it's not too shabby.
Hehe. Glad you enjoyed 'em. They're from around my neck of the woods, so I felt it was an appropriate contribution.

Anyhow, since Annie's tearing through the songs, I've got to rack up some points of my own before midnight.

Firstly, two easy ones off of Shaman's hint: Both Professor Longhair (Mardi Gras in New Orleans) and the Meters (Hey Pocky A-Way) hail (hale?) from New Orleans, to complete her set. While funk isn't typically the type of music I tend to include in my daily life, I do have a soft spot for brass and woodwind instruments, so it's always a treat when I do get some old school funk.

And speaking of swingin' tunes, I'm thinking Nonane included Instanbul (which is most emphatically not to be confused with Constantinople) for something to dance to. And if it isn't C9's, then it's still a nice tune, and might be to standout so far (though as I go through the list more and more, that might change.

Aye that's Shammy cleared out alright.

And yeah Istanbul is mine. Besides being an awesome song I love to bits it also shows up as an Easter egg in Civ3 (well the original song anyway) my favourite game. When you found too many cities and expend the list of city names for a given civ it usually starts adding New in front of the name, for example New Kyoto. But for Istanbul it throws out Not Constantinople

Niiice. I only got into the Civ franchise starting with number four, but that's a cute little reference.

Also: No guesses, fellas?

Alright, let's try to take the lead. There are two other distinctly swing-y tunes in that playlist that I'd like to pin on C9. Notably, those'd be Lone Digger (Caravan Palace), and All Night (Parov Stelar).

While I was familiar with the former (and its particularly memorable, if bizarre, music video), this is the first time I hear of Parov Stelar. I'm getting a distinctly C2C vibe from it (which is, funny enough, another French electronic/swing? band). Might just be my imagination, but I'm fond of 'em, so you'll get no complaints from me.

There are a few of those crazy awesome music vids around youtube. Be sure to check out Slightly Left of Centre - Love the Way You Move and Stuck in the Sound - Let's Go.

It had a few other gems like that instead of New Tokyo it was Neo Tokyo because of some anime I think.

And yeah you sunk my battleship, all the electro swing was mine. It is perhaps my most favourite kind of music right now, so fucking groovy it pretty much forces you to move. Check out more of electro swing if you like those, and of Stellar in particular check out Catgroove, Booty Swing and Jimmy's Gang

PS. C2C is awesome too, the video for Delta is pretty crazy as well.

Phew, I half-expected the "hang in there" poster to foreshadow a traumatic stress incident.

Thankfully everything worked out for the best.

PS. Some people like to think that the ending of LTWYM and the events in Let's Go are connected :-P

Btw I am also quite enjoying heavy metal and that song about pills

A heads up, I will aim to confirm or deny guesses every day at 10pm from now on.

Default The Hunchback of Notre SoL

I'm guessing that Edmondo Fitzgeraldovich is Kellick's?

Not my first choice, but I'll take a chance with MCA and Michael Jackson.

And the Human Torch is a Slave to Love?

Does that Portal lead to the Nexus?

The following three based merely on the title or thumbnail:
Annie - Den Stora Vilan
Smith & Thell - MCA
Sweet - Torch

ShuuKaRen... goes to Pimpamadeus Rex!

Hey, when the heck did Kellick overtake my lead? This I will not stand for! Unacceptable.

Did the Torchman add that Don Felder-tune, the Heavy Metal one?

Paul Stanley, Live To goddamn Win, added by MehKekAttek perchance?

And I see we haven't figured out any of Nazja's songs yet, so I'll give that a shot! Eurythmics, hey hey I Saved The World Today, is what my shot in the dark will be.

And Love Is A First by The Tragically Hip feels like it's in the same indie-esque lane as the other song Kellick contributed with, so I'll guess that this one is his too.

Yep, that's Kellick's. Not the first time he sent that one either I'm pretty sure.

MJ is not associated with murderous monkeys however.

Torch is a slave to love.

And Maly is the one behind the Portal song.

Annie has sent the Swedish song, surprisingly

Nope for Torch but you are right about Pimpster.

Wrong about Torch.

And Macaque.

Bust for Nazja's song too.

But you at least got Kellick's last one.

I'll go fix up the OP. Next reveals tomorrow at 10

EDIT: I had made a mistake, Nazja was right about Pimp too.

It is a bit of a pity since if she wasn't we would have a three way draw but now Nazja pulls ahead.

Noice.

Small hint for my rivals:
The three songs were all played in different episodes of the same series.

Hmmm.... Hmmmm.....

This has been quite delightful to watch.

But I do have to wonder what series, the Nazja speaks of.

Seems you had a ctrl-c ctr-v malfunction there in regards to your guess for Maly. You copied my playlist description

You got Royal but not MC. I'll go update the OP.

Yep, Christina was part of the gaming community that I frequented, League and Smash. Given that the League world series was ongoing and this year's song's meaning, seemed topical to include her cover as tribute. She passed away last year due to gun violence, which reared its ugly head today.

Ha ha! It's still not too late for me to cement my victory!

And I will attempt to do so by first making guesses as to Nazja's contribution.

I submit that the two other songs in Nazja's playlist are Sweet's Ballroom Blitz, and Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal. While those songs aren't all that much like Kansas's Wayward Son, they are all classics in their own right. So while I'm not sure what the connective tissue is there, I'm guessing they belong to the same contributor.

Which leaves me with a third guess, and I thought I'd dive into the heavy metal portion of the playlist. We've got a few tunes there, and I honestly don't know who the contributor(s) for those might be. I'll admit I might not be the most well versed in metal, having only really heard from a handful of artists there.

That said, I put forward that Royal of all of the other contributors, submitted Iceage's Ecstacy.

Sorry to hear that. Were you two close(ish) or just parts of the same community?

No hits : /

Also you can guess as much as you want this time around so if you have more bullets make your shot.

Yes for MCA, yes for Annie, no for the rest.

Anyway since there is a tie at the top of the list and all guessers are just 1 point apart I think it would be cool to have a tie breaker round.

All four of you can make three guesses if you want and hopefully one of you will be the winner by the end of it. I'll check and see what you guessed in two days time.

Btw guys I've really enjoyed this playlist, both the music and the guessing
