Such an abstract concept cannot be so narrowly defined. What about single-celled organisms, for instance? Scientists disagree over the precise boundary and definition, so it seems foolish to me to state it as unequivocal fact.

Deliberately lying or creating a deliberately misleading statement in a news cast, government committee, or publicly funded forum should be illegal and punishable by a televised recantation of the statement followed by ceremonial flogging. Individuals who commit multiple offenses should be water boarded for a full 24 hour period of time and all license to speak in any official capacity to the public would be revoked for no less than three years.

And abortion? It should not be illegal. I am pro choice but not pro abortion.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who is in favor of babby murder, but abortion rights isn't about babby murder. However most opponents to pro-choice would gladly shift the conversation away from health and economic considerations and make it about babby murder.

I should be illegal to use memes (such as plox, plop, babby, and sauce) in the place of normal words in conversations and statements not intended to be humorous.

There's a difference between biological life and human life.

In my book, at least, the foundation of "human life" is the concept of abstract reasoning. Until a being- biologically human or otherwise, asks the concept "why" in any form, it is just an animal.

Yes, the philosopher defines life based on the capability of philosophy. How apt.

I preferred if we substituted all mentions of Human in law with Sapient Being

Right, so while we're still not sure what beings are 'sapient', we're going to do what exactly with all these animals that might or might not be sapient? And all those sapient animals in zoo's, we're going to let them go free and give them benefits? In countries with the draft, will they face conscription? How will they plead in court if they commit a crime?

If they were sapient they would be able to act on those situations

A human is not sapient until a certain age i guess...

Maybe changing it to Individuals of sapient species would be more fitting?

So if abortion ever becomes illegal, will contraception be easier to access or remain legal?

I mean, increased access to contraception and safe sex reduces abortions like nothing else.

True, but you also have to factor in the stupidity and horniness of teens. That alone makes the choice a necessity. Also tack on badly manufactured or mishandled contraception, rape, incest, and potential situations where the mother might be incapable of bringing the fetus to term safely and the ability to choose to abort is outright mandatory.

By that... logic, you can do whatever you want (well, maybe not anything) to someone or something that can not communicate with you?

Then you have to get around to defining individual without looping around, or you just smashed your own argument.
