Would Nazgrim be a more interesting character if he stood on Garry's side because he was secretly in love with him, instead of a fierce sense of loyalty? It would make him a more complex character, but not necessarily better because he would have taken more or less the same desitions.

I think the ambiguousness of some characters is the best approach to it. If people want to believe that Tassarian is a bossy bottom in bed, let them. This game isnt about pleasing/representing everyone, but to satisfy the most people as possible. And for all intents and purposes, minorities are exactly what the name suggests.
As much as other gaming companies are mature enough to handle writing in gay characters without making them screaming stereotypes, blizzard simply aren't those guys. They can't do characterization without making it very obvious.

Found another LGBT couple I'd forgotten. Kama and her partner.

Anyone else find it irritating that we have very little representation of High/Blood Elf relationships within their own race.

Plenty of Human+Elf. I can think of one maybe two of elf on elf love.

No Elf Lore characters that I know of have a partner

Considering the other partner probably just followed the other in doing what they were doing (sticking in Sillymoon or joining the Alliance) and that it's more cultural than racial I don't really think there's much precedent for it.

I have no idea what any of this means.

But, To make sure my point is clear. There is no Elf+ Elf couples in lore. Say for some quest in Falcon watch... Too many humans+Elves.

I don't see how there is no precedent for that.

Not entirely sure what it has to do with gender, but there's that one elf in Bloodsworn, and Liadrin hugged Lorthemar in an intimate way in the end of BotH.

I thought you specifically meant a High Elf in a relationship with a Blood Elf, given how you wrote High/Blood Elf.

I...just realized this. The only one I can think of was the one in Li Li's travel log. Vyrin and her blood elf man

This. Species-mixing is overrated and pollutes the blood of one's genetic group! Down with half-breeds!

So is anyone else surprised at how 180 Blizzard made WoD after their "Boy's trip" comment?

I'm just mildly surprised that they did it so badly. Not even an ounce of subtlety.

Not in the slightest.

The screeching feminazis are the only faction that surpasses the howling homosexuals in their demand for attention, validation, and forced "acceptance."

Well we know Yrel was planned. So was Liadrin. I think they always planned on having those Iron Maidens and even Azula. I'm surprised they introduced a creature like Ka'alu.

That's why I'm not surprised. The way I see it, it wasn't really a 180, Aggra excluded. It just seems that way because of their foot-in-mouth syndrome.

No, it was intended. Remember when we were first introduced to Yrel she was a victim of rape/a potential victim of rape, paired off with Maraad as a damnsel in distress love interest and also just happened to be Velen's niece.

It's pretty damn obvious they did a 180 on her character.

I don't think she was a damsel in distress.

I'm pretty sure she was always intended as a major character. She was called a Jeanne d'Arc figure at blizzcon if I'm remembering right.

What we think words mean, and what Blizzard thinks words mean, are often two very different things.
