Default Blood Knights and the 'Light'

So, any of yous who watched the Q&As would have seen my new Hero, Wrathiongirl:

Wrathion Girl: "Will we see any developments for the Blood Elves visiting Draenor to look upon the world they had a hand in destroying, particuarly with the Magisters and Kael'thas sympathisers."

Lore Team: "Paladins are super." (Edited for comic effect)

Wrathion Girl: "Okay... Will you take Silvermoon out of 2007?"

Lore Team: "No."

---

However! They did mention that the Blood Elves will learn -what- the light is, and it will change Blood Knights or something Speculation!

I wonder if Blood Knights are guna go all Liadrin now fully?

Ooooo I am excited about this!

After spending all WotLK, Cata and MoP as a repentant Blood Knight, I highly approve of this option

It would be interesting if the Blood Knights actually leaned close to the Vindicator's beliefs, instead of the traditional Azerothian belief in line with the Church of the Holy Light. The Tauren Sunwalker concept has proven that it's possible to develop the class outside of the "Church militant" worldview.

My only worry would be Blizz being heavy-handed with it - what they should discover is -an interpretation- that is at best equally valid as everyone else. Wouldn't mind seeing Liadrin going all Neutral and helping spread the Knight's discoveries to all believers in the Light and equivalents.

... waitaminute.

Liadrin + Joan of Argus...

Ooooooooh I got myself a new point for my WoD wishlist: Bash Sisters!

Get your minds out of the gutter, dammit

Hm, Yes, I would disapprove greatly if it turned directly at 'Church of the holyholy'. But if they find out what the light -is- then make their own thing/faith out of that discovery. Yes! Do want.

I play as a belf priest, so got nothing, and even though this is for Blood Knights I can still use whatever it is.

I would -hate- to see Liadrin turn neutral, that would be terrible as Blood Elves already have enough neutrals floating about. I would like to see her playing an active roll and bashing some heads with things in the name of Silvermoon. Even if her redemption leaves a bitter taste.

I approve of 'classic' and 'Sunwell' blood elves if honest, about time we know what the devil they have been doing with the light!

I feel like they'll swap roles with the draenei from BC; that is, they'll take the backseat and complement the draenei Vindicators.

Though I maintain vain hope that paladins in general will have a warlock-esque quest chain which will explore each of the paladin orders' takes on the Light. The Silver Hand and the whole faith-driven righteousness angle, the Blood Knights and their Sunwell, the draenei and the naaru, etc. That would be an awesome way for paladins of X order to broaden their horizons and get a better understanding of how other races wield and view the Light IMO.

Despite being a sucker for self-discovery stories, that specific one would probably too much of "let's all hold hands togheter!" which doesn't fit the Paladin paradigm that much.

The second best solution would lead to an "agree to disagree" situation (a bit la OWoD Mage Traditions), but considering the rampant pride of the average Paladin... Yeah, RIGHT.

I may have missed the memo: what kind of famous Neutrals *do* the Blood elves have? I can't name a single one for the life of me...

Blood Elves getting some Blood Knight lore sounds cool but feels really out of place in an expansion like this.

And I know Draenei and Vindicators and yada, but the thing with them is that Draenor is also an alien planet and one they're closely tied to despite the savagery of this planet.

This expac should have more involvement with the more savage races imo (Tauren, Troll, and Worgen) as well as the Dwarves since they're already promised a role somewhere.

Voren'thal the Seer is the main one off the top of my head, and one is one too many! There are more, but I cannot google currently.

Hm, I see your point Grim, and as it is meant to be a 'savage' expac then I get that. But trolls have had more than enough lore. So please Blizzard leave those alone. Others, yeah cool.

I dunno, waiting another 2 maybe 4 years for something to do with the light for Blood Elves is -too long-, we have had these changes from BC remember, and it has not been mentioned say for a few passing statements. So yeah, stick it in, let it explain a few things and let us understand what the devil is happening.

We already know Silvermoon is never going to be updated so this little bit is nice.

Of course, I am utterly biased.

Voren'thal, I guess. Aethas until MoP. Liadrin herself is kinda Malfurion-style neutral; she has no bone to pick with the opposite faction, but she's still officially backing Team Red.

Now I think of it, that makes her a perfect character to use in WoD.

I remembered Sanguinaar which, though technically neutral... Well... She's an odd case that one.

Compared to Blood Elves, Trolls are still pretty due for more Lore hopefully involving more than just Vol'jin.

I don't really count the villain trolls on the other hand though.

We will have to differ on that!

Trolls have had -something- in every expac and patch for so long I can't quote the figure!

Well, to be fair, the Blood Knights are tied heavily with the Naaru and the draenei ever since BC. So any new paladin lore about the nature of the Light as well as the Naaru would also be part of the blood knight lore as well.

The question becomes how would this affect the non-Naaru influenced Light wielders like the humans/dwarves/tauren since they don't subscribe to the whole Naaru/Light philosophy.

Proof that the Sin'dorei still remember the Sun King for the hero he had been, not the psycho he had become.

This is her similarly slutty costume from when we hung out at SDCC 2012.

I've been not so subtly trying to fuck her every Blizzcon but now she's shacking up with some disgusting hipster who dresses like Anduin, which just compounds my rage.

Do the same people go to Blizzcon every single year? How many new people still end going there? In the videos it almost feels like they are recurring characters in a TV show.

I pretty much only ever see her during Blizzcon (and that one time I went to SDCC with Blizzard), though we play WoW together pretty frequently.
