My only real complain is about how short and uneventful the questline was.
There were no stakes at any moment. It could have been full of small moments with several races and characters, but ultimately it went nowhere. Blizzard just needed something between the two cinematics.

Aside from that, am I happy? No. Too much like MoP. And Alliance are still sidekicks to the Horde. But I don't think it was that terrible.

On the plus side, my prediction for patch 8.3 still applies. Let's see where we go next.

Well, pet theory is that sometime during Wow's existence you're going to get a Hell and Heaven(?) expansion.

With tidbits like this
And Sylv pretty much admitting she's in league with a Death God. There's probably going to be a Shadowlands expansion as it's the only way to avoid her fate, by becoming the right hand of Death and sucking up to whoever rules WoW Hell.

Watch it turn out that she's in league with Azeroth, the reason Magni's plan hasn't fixed the problem is because it was a sham fed to him by N'zoth, and Azeroth hasn't recovered because there's just too much life on the planet hogging all the Spirit she needs to regenerate.

So burning Teldrassil and starting a world war ends up being Sylvanas' way of getting a ton of people to die so the world-soul can absorb the souls of the fallen to heal its wounds.

And so the answer to what ultimately happens to the dead on Azeroth is finally answered: they return to Azeroth herself, becoming part of her own soul and making her stronger.

Cue us stopping Sylvanas right as we find this out, allowing N'zoth to finally make his move even as we find out we were wrong. But just when all seems lost, Bolvar shows up with that handy host of Damned souls ready to be fed to the wounded titan, allowing her to heal just in time to resist N'zoth's encroaching corruption and allow us to take him down.

I'm only halfway being sarcastic here...

Looks like they've finally done it, they've killed WoW.

There are a lot of tidbits and NPC reactions everywhere. Finally.

https://www.wowhead.com/news=295290/...loyalists-bain

1. Alleria and Vereesa showing up, and mentioning Nzoth at that
2. Thalyssra questioning Jaina about the Kul Tiran ship summon with arcane cannons, that was quite interesting
3. Mayla mentioning how Ji Firepaw didn't want a second Siege of Orgrimmar
4. the loyalist being rejected by the auctioneer
5. Tyrande (which could be both interpreted as "she still wants her revenge" or "she has already gotten her revenge")
6. Genn still wanting to take her down

So, like it or not, Blizzard is actually improving in this area.

Very disappointing that once again an Alliance-Horde war ends up as a conflict between two Horde factions in Orgrimmar with the Alliance in the background. And then Sylvanas disappears after Saurfang's pointless death and we pretend nothing happened. The Horde doesn't even offer any guarantee to the Alliance that it won't start another bloodbath in two years. Very lame.

A big battle in Gilneas between Genn and Sylvanas would have been a better way to finish it off, since that's where Sylvanas' "dark path" started imo.

So who's the Warchief now? And who's the leader of the orcs? And of the Forsaken? Because the Horde lost all of them.

Isn't it obvious? The new Warchief is Ji Firepaw!

Nathanos is probably the new Forsaken leader, unless I missed his death somewhere. They should just bring back Thrall for the Orcs.

Nope, he's off with Sylvanas. He was present in Ghostlands, departing when we arrive, and actually called Sylvanas directly "My Love".

It will 100% be Calia and Thrall being back as Orc/Horde Leader.

I'm not surprised that Saurfang died, it was forshadowed since the beginning of BFA.

I didn't want Calia to return, since it was inevitable that she would eventually go Horde.

Too bad it still happened.

Maybe they will break up the factions a little. Alliance and Horde will both still exist, but with Anduin being weak and no obvious successor to the position of War Chief those two factions become much less relevant than the factions within it.

Looks like Calia and Derek have a thing going on. Didn't work out so well for their siblings.

Seems more like she's gonna have Derek as her "Nathanos"

It's also just another in the long lined tradition of Blizzard killing Horde's prominent leaders and characters.

(Though not as bad as Blizzard's bizarre storytelling fetish of father's mourning dead sons.)

It would be dope if Blizzard went the route of making more factions rather than no factions. We already have well-established groups in the forms of the various racial factions. That way you'd farm reputation for whatever tribe or nation you wanted to play alongside.
