Crossed Axes (War2) The (Un)official Official Warlords of Draenor Spoiler Thread

You want to ask/post something spoilery? Fret not, here's the thread for such endeavours. We don't want to spoil WoD for other players, after all.

Anyone know if all the Garrison Campaign chapters or whole Legendary Questline is up on YouTube anywhere? Need to know it for Twitter RP and never got it on beta through an awful bug early on in GC.

I know that orcs respect the tauren's beliefs, but has any orc ever talked about the Earth Mother the way her believers, the tauren, do?

If not, Aggra is the first orc, and a mag'har at that, who worships the Earth Mother!

What's the Horde version of questing like? A few people have said that it's mirrored, and I'm curious which side "makes more sense/is canon".

Also spoil the fuck out of Spires. I will marry you. Like the full story behind Sethe and them.

Anything new about Nagrand that we didn't find before? Or other races like the Saberon and the Pale?

Grom gives orders to his various Warlords. He chastises Blackhand and Kargath. At the end, he and Kilrogg return to Tanaan Jungle to complete construction on 'the Citadel'.

Farahlon is completely MIA, beyond a mention in a garrison mission.

It does seem to be a useful belief system since it syncretizes so many spiritualist beliefs so well.

The Tauren revere Thrall because the Earth-Mother loves him for being the greatest Shaman ever and his power over the Earth.

On the other side of the pond, the Night Elves revere Anduin because Elune is revealed to be a Naaru and his command of the Light is so great.

Leaked 7.0 spoilers.

So:
  • Which Legion is doing stuff in WoD? AU or the MU one? Do they mention anything about Mannoroth?
  • Is Garrosh dead for real this time? Are we finally free of his taint?
  • Is Darion still present on Draenor?
  • The whole thing ends with Grom and the rest of the living chieftains running into the jungle?

You forgot the part where Thrall takes upon his new name, The Earth Father.

I think we will stop the Legion but something huge like Gul'dan will come to our Azeroth.

Frostfire was good. You get a little burnt out on the Thunderlords by the end, but I felt they had a good build up and were put to good use as enemies. There were things accomplished, things at stake, you got a good feeling for who the Frostwolves and Thunderlords are and how the Iron Horde was changing things. I enjoyed it overall. The only thing that dragged it down is that I'm not a huge fan of snow zones.

Gorgrond was better than expected. I thought the rock versus plant thing would drag it down. Turns out it was pretty cool. The Iron Horde wasn't completely wiped away from the zone either, and you got to see how they tamed or broke gronn to their use, I really liked that. AU Rexxar was a little weird, I think I would have preferred the MU one instead. Laughing Skulls were oddballs, but not too wacky or goofy crazy, but you could tell being stuck between such forces of nature really makes for a demented orc clan. I didn't get to finish the zone though due to NPC phasing. But liked it so far.

By far the worst offender in terms of story and lore is Talador and the "Battle" for Shattrath questing, at least for Horde. It is some of the worst storytelling done in WoW. Orgrim has visions for no reason, there's an unexplained superweapon that suddenly appears for no reason, Orgrim betrays Blackhand suddenly for no reason. Nothing is explain, nothing is built up, and the in-game cutscene is actually longer than the gameplay leading up to it. It's boring, it makes no sense, and somehow this is the all important main story for the zone? In fact, I'm going to say that with how bad the lead-up to the cutscene is, it really makes the cutscene feel utterly lame and meaningless. Teron'gor felt like it had more at stake and was more important - it was also really, really fun. Almost redeemed the zone for me, but Shattrath hung over me like a shadow for the rest of the zone, so it was hard to enjoy.

Spires was awesome. Just awesome. Incredibly well done and the standard by which I'll hold Blizz's storytelling to from now on. Arakkoa was just awesome and learning about their society was incredible. The references to all the TBC stuff was well integrated and now you get a sense of just how far they fallen. My only minor complaint is Admiral Taylor dying. Tired of Alliance bases being destroyed for us to quest in. Also, it felt like Blizz really wanted to give Taylor his 'epic moment' similar to Nazgrim, but it felt completely unnecessary the entire time.

Nagrand has been good so far. It's a stunningly beautiful zone. I haven't finished yet, but I'm enjoying the questing. The Throne of the Elements is awesome.

Dem Auchindoun cinematics, though. I'm really pissed about northern Talador, but the Auchindoun bits in the zone and the instance were super cool.

While Blizzard's timeline stuff is always fucked up, it's really weird and probably impossible for Chromie to be older than a Draenei, unless she was born when the titans first left Azeroth. And even then, that isn't "a hundred" of a Draenei's lifetime. That's like.. one or two. The line was clearly written with a human or orc lifespan in mind.
