![]() Seems to be debate on whether the smaller studio couldn't handle it or whether blizzard started asking for too much and was being inconsistent. I'm leaning towards the latter.

Blizzard at that point was likely used to experiment freely with ideas, but as the project was basically outsourced, this approach was more of a hindrance. And it got only worse since Blizzard devs got inspired by things they saw in releases of other developers, while Nihilistic had to take care of it. I'd say it's a classic case of too many cooks. Things might have worked out differently if Nihilistic was more of an inhouse team for Blizzard, so Blizzard developers would have been more involved and get a better idea where things should go, instead of getting an update from time to time.
