Default Poll:Star Trek vs Star Wars!

Right, one's a space sci-fi franchise, while the other is a space fantasy. Which one do you like more?

For me, it's Star Trek.

I've only seen Star Wars, so I have to vote for it.

Star Wars >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>Star Trek.
Star Trek is too hippy for my taste. Star Wars has more grit and darkness.

I've flipped back and forth, but I think I'd have to go with Star Trek overall.

Q. I'd like to experience Star Wars. How much do I have to watch?
A. There are three movies in the original trilogy, and that's enough to consider yourself a fan. There are also three prequel movies, plus a number of expanded universe sources if you like. But they're just on the side - the original trilogy is your main target.

A. Way too fucking much to keep track of.

I don't think watching three movies is enough to be a SW "fan".

I was raised on both, the original trilogy and the Next Generation are both fully saturated with nostalgia for me. I think I've seen every Trek tv episode except TAS at least twice. God only knows how many times I've seen the Star Wars movies. I don't really care for the EU of either (outside of some of the games and the Thrawn trilogy).

Star Trek wins because it produced some really really excellent tv episodes and the movies balance out to meh.

Star Wars for me. While I was raised on both, Star Wars was to me what trains are to other aspies. I had shit tons of toys, mostly micro machines, of the droids and shit. I also thought of Darth Vader as father like figure.

More like the elitist jerk route.

But, seriously, I've seen some weird "fans" that refused to watch/read/play anything Star Wars BUT the OT, and meanwhile wrote fanfics on it, with their own weird version of SW universe, that they considered their own ultimate canon.

I like the concept of Star Trek a lot more, but I've always enjoyed Star Wars far more then Trek.

I think the only reason people think to compare them is because of the similar titles.

I like both but I like Star Wars more.

That's weird. Before refreshing the page Nazja was shown as "banished".

OT:
Trek all the way. I occasionally watch SW but I don't really give a shit about it.

I'm a Trek fangirl, so Trek all the way. I like the original Star Wars movies...but the EU is bad. Granted Trek Eu is bad too... <.> But even just comparing movies 2 3 4 6 >> Star Wars alone so....yeah.

pf. The movies are the bare bones for Star Wars fandom (and most of them really aren't even good). It's the EU that keeps Star Wars afloat.
