No. Blizzard sometimes just forgets to include their third toe, or deliberately decided to leave it out for a lot of Zandalari models. They actually cut it off the model of their Dire Trolls, which couldn't have been an accident despite making no sense.

But now it seems they've changed their minds and might be reattaching the third toe. All Troll fans should rejoice at this. The third toe shouldn't be forgotten.

I wonder if there's any chance those squid people whose names I forget could be the alliance counterpart to the vulpera (though admittedly, as old god transformed humans, their concept might be a little too close to the void elves).

Also that Grommash hairstyle, give me it!

Speaking of allied race hinting, from the WoW subreddit:

Seems a little suspicious.

Hozen would require quite a bit of work though, wouldn't they? I know Blizzard said something about how future allied races are not all going ot be based on already existing races in the Alliance/Horde, but thus far, every single one of 'em has been (with vulpera, I suppose, being a bit of an outlier, if they do end up being one, though as they had goblin animations for a while, they're kind of based on them still, I suppose).

Feel like its more just a throwback to MoP with a hozen or two hanging out with the orcs even still.

What stands out to me is that, it's the only NPC race in this group, we haven't seen hozen working with the Horde in awhile, and most importantly, they put it next to nightborne and highmountain tauren kor'kron members. But there's a good chance its just Blizzard teasing of course.

Not many hair options. Especially compared to the female choices.

That Grom-inspired choice is like the only good hairstyle male orcs have ever had.

Well, the design for Hozen supports a lot of armor types and animations. Sure, they're built into the model, so they'd still have to make a new one with player armor geosets and redo the animations for a player skeleton. So yeah, they'd be a lot of work. Their models are still probably high enough quality to use as a decent starting point.

Looking at them now, I'm actually surprised they have such a complete set of animations. And unique animations at that.

While doing that Rakeeshi demon world quest on the Broken Shore, I had a thought. Rakeesh didn't die in the nether, so he should be still alive (though Velen seems to treat his death as being permanent). I've always been a big proponent that eredar could be the horde allied race equivalent of void elves (i.e., a recolor of a race from the opposite faction). Should that ever happen, Rakeesh should be their leader! With Rakeesh having been brought up by propoganda from Kil'jaeden could also serve as a redemption arc, with him learning he was misled now that Kil'jaeden is dead and getting like minded eredar. Due to the attack on the Exodar the alliance wouldn't want him (and it would make for some nice faction tension because of Velen).

Rakeesh, Jaraxxus and Mal'Ganis as faction leaders. I want to believe they left them out for a reason, especially their most popular meme character as EREDAR LORD OF THE BURNING LEGION

Especially, I want to see Mal'Ganis, because We have yet to see whats the Ebon Blade's position on this next expansion. Sure, they serve Bolvar and the Deathlord now, but they have important characters for current events, like Thoras or Nazgrim.

the horde has nightborne.

I'd support that. Always felt eredar in the Horde wouldn't be a bad idea.

Nah, Jaraxxus and Mal'ganis wouldn't join a mortal faction. I'd see them and other demons banding together in their own mini-Legion.

Or, they decided to reference them since the Hozen joined the Horde in WoD.

I don't follow the official forums at all, but I imagine there's a lot of whining about heritage armor and allied races' tattoes/hairstyle etc. options not being available to "base" races. Can anyone who does tell me what the community's overall reaction is? Have there been any official statements from Blizzard on the matter? Any plans to "compensate" old races in any way?

Less whining than you think. A few threads here and there that usually don't last long.

From what I know, Blizzard mentioned very briefly in Blizzcon that old races may get new options, but for now their focus is on allied races.

To Blizz Rakeesh is probably dead since they are only consistent with the whole demons coming back thing when they feel like it.

Retcons were merely a setback.

To be blunt i want them go absolutely. fucking. ham. on Allied Races. If they choose to go the stupid route i want them to OWN that with more stuff like the Zandalari, who at this point really feel like the only AR that actually deserves to be more than just creation options. Make me level each and every one of those, damnit, give me something to do beyond fishing and running WoD dungeons.
