The adventure was fun, I especially liked the fight against Malchezzar. Beat him the first time in both normal and heroic. Though reading about your experiences I am starting to think I got a bit lucky with the Apprentices.

Same, it was an easy win for me but I got two apprentices at the start and stacked my deck with mage armor.

I thinned by deck down to 7 cards and had an apprentice in play.

Those last 7 cards were the mana reduction on spells, frostbolt, I think the one that puts 5 secrets into play, the one that summons a legendary minion (I think 2 of those actually), the spell power one and something else.

I won pretty fast after that.

The Antonidas/Rhonin combo he has wipes me out every time.

The Heroic chess game is just ridiculous. The AI has twice as many cards as you do. I'm not even sure how I'm supposed to do this.

Sometimes they just design these bloody heroics to be as impossible and annoying as possible. To the point you have to just do them over and over until you get lucky.

And instead of trying to beat them through skill you're just waiting the damn thing out.

Get board control early. Hope your queen isn't at the bottom of your deck (the important part). Use queen to go face once you've established control with her. Use your hero power to reposition trash to the left, so queen is far right. Bishops let you have a bigger board so that queen can go face.

I'm doing that mostly, he just always win by the skin of his teeth. Every damn time. I just run out of resources when he's at 4-8.

I agree. The court jester piece enables the table flip gambit.

yeah figured that out.

Still not sure why the AI doesn't have that too, though. I mean I feel like it's challenging enough without that.

I dunno, I don't like to complain about difficult content it just feels like it's obstructionist to the point that it's just wasting my time sometimes and then it gets really frustrating.

I tried to build a dragon/divine shield aggro Paladin deck but I don't think all the tools are there.

You quickly turn yourself into Rag and just build up your armor as much as possible to keep from dying?

While exploiting the hell out of your trait?

Doesn't armor disappear when you transform? It used to...

You can still gain some armor using that 3 mana spell whose name eludes me, armorsmith and other methods after you transform however.

I am sure his deck is pretty terrible... but very fun at the same time and that is why he plays it

Pretty much. It's wildly inconsistent obviously, if you don't have barnes within the first 5 turns there's pretty much no point. and barely even if you get the combo off it'll barely ever work, but wow it's so much fun when you pull it all off.

Yeah you still lose your armor when you turn into Rag, but you can build it back up with spells. Also it activates the qualifiers for spells like Mortal Strike or Revenge which help you keep the board clear so the hero power goes for face.

It's a super stupid deck but I'm chasing that "oh my god I won with majordomo" high that is so damn addicting lmao. I might try something similar with druid using feral rage as an armor builder, less consistent removal but better card draw through spells.

I feel like Majordomo would have been good if Rag had, had 15 health instead of... 8.

You could go control mage with Ice Barrier/Ice Block and so forth.

That might work even better.

That's how I played Domo when he first came out. And Alex to boost my HP back to 15 at an opportune time. Though obv Alex doesn't really work with this deck.

This is from a game where I pulled it off against a hunter who had a decent board, so I was evil and let him bash his skull against my defences (block, barrier, alex...) again and again while I delayed killing him with my board and just used the hero power ftw. I could have lost to a flare but it takes quite a few tries to set up a good Rag situations so I was like fuck it.

Barnes Ramp Druid

Here's a more serious attempt at a druid deck utilizing Barnes.

Kind of greedy, and I think I need to figure out how to add a second doomsayer (though late game Doomsays become a big liability with Barnes) but I think there's potential here.

Barnes really allows a lot of these big late game cards to allow for early game power without having to rely on expensive combos or holding out into the late game.

EDIT: Fixed the link.

Decided to do League of Explorers Heroic because I love that cardback. The bosses were mostly fun enough, though Slitherspear is probably bullshit without mill rogue, however than I got to Giantfin...

Fuck Giantfin and fuck whomever thought that was a fun fight. The idea of a tide of murlocs is fun enough but that fight might be the definition of stupid hard in gaming.

In related news, which heroic cardbacks do you like most? I feel it's LoE>Nax>>>Kara>Blackrock

Shadow Orb

LoE>Blackrock>Kara>Naxx for heroic cardbacks.

EDIT: Epic.
