Yeah she pretty much sucks. Failed as a daughter because she killed her father, failed as a diplomat by not creating diplomatic ties with the Alliance and Horde, and failed as a leader by getting her city destroyed and her people along with it. How does she not suck? Just because she's the face of girl power in the Alliance doesn't give her credentials in awesome.

Wouldn't say he's a unworthy but he is a bit rebellious. I don't personally think he's unloyal so far and unworthy. But for a change, can he not be this rebellious little brat? Every time Varian is trying to be a leader, Anduin keeps undermining him.
A little tip from Micheal Corleone

Lothar sucks. He got killed by some orc, failed to protect Stormwind, killed his friend Medivh...

There are other people involved in what you consider Jaina's failures so I wouldn't take them as a measure for her worth. Besides you can't view those events out of context.

Why? Why must he be obedient and conservative just so that his father would look "cooler" as a leader? Why not actually support Anduin making his own decisions? Who knows what good they may bring in the end?

Let me tell you a story.

There was a king in one militaristic, yet pedantic kingdom. He was known as the Soldier-king for his strength and a fighter's spirit. Though the king was peaceful and conservative, he was by no means gentle.

The king had a son, a heir to the throne, with a rebellious nature and a liking for un-kingly things, like poetry and love. Alas, the king wanted a serious warrior for a heir, without any of his son's philosophic, poetic and homosexual travesty. After some scandalous break-ups, with a bit of execuction and exile, the king was left completely disappointed in his son, taking him for a weakling and a disgrace to the family.

And now the question arises...

Which one of the two became known as "the Great"?

Poor chap. Tried to escape from his father's kingdom and instead got to see his friend get decapitated...
Bad thing is he later turned out to be just as bad as his father was.

Upon ascending to the Prussian throne, he attacked Austria and claimed Silesia during the Silesian Wars, winning military acclaim for himself and Prussia. Near the end of his life, Frederick physically connected most of his realm by conquering Polish territories in the First Partition of Poland.

He's not Anduin. He was a conqueror, like pretty much every "great" was. He didn't get the title by sitting in drum circles singing kumbayah.

I know Blizzard will someday fulfill my wish of having a team of Azeroth Avengers.

Thrall would probably be the leader and the team's name would be "Thrall's Balls"

If losing cities makes you terrible then Varian must suck for losing Stormwind. As does Trollbane, Greymane, Antonidas, Terenas, Gelbin, Velen and so on ... quite the team of losers, eh?

This tired old one again. First of all, it was Rexxar that killed him. Secondly he was a crazy, racist old man on a power-trip. Thrall tried to reason with him. Jaina tried to reason with him. He wouldn't listen to anyone because the only thing he listened to was his own hatred. He usurped Theramore just because he found out his daughter had been hanging around with such despicable characters like Chen Stormstout and Rokhan the troll. If Admiral Proudmoore had had his way, Archimonde would have won the Battle of Mount Hyjal and the world have been destroyed.

Stop trying to make that guy into a hero when he obviously was not.

'Failed as a diplomat' ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The entire premise to World of Warcraft was that after the Third War Jaina and Thrall brokered a peace deal between the factions! Then there was the Cycle of Hatred book which was all about diplomacy between Jaina and Thrall. Then there all of those peace conferences (at least three by my count) that she hosted. It was her diplomatic skill that kept the peace for so long!

In what world can you possibly say that she failed at "creating diplomatic ties with the Alliance and Horde"? She was only one freaking trying to do it!

Yeah man, you totally caught me out on that one. Serious question: Do you like Varian because of his dick and balls?

As sad as it is, it's part of the moral. As much as Frederick hated his father, the man still was among those who shaped him into what he was.

A bit like Thrall in Lord of the Clans, if you remember that Drek'Tar's line.

As far as I can see, Anduin won't necessarily become the peaceful advisor type. If he does become king, one would expect him to take part in wars (well, what else would you expect in the World of Warcraft?), not just being a solely religious leader like Velen the Prophet. He may, in fact, be a very good tactician and strategist, despite his peaceful character. I just think that Anduin will still be the "civilized" king, instead of a "furious warrior with a sad backstory type" like Varian. I mentioned Frederick II specifically to show how a "weak and unworthy" prince can become a strong king, while staying true to his old beliefs (that thing with "enlightened absolutism" I mean).

It's really more because of his rippling abs and sculpted jaw.

Lies, everyone knows Daelin was a staunch Democrat and a member of the KKK.

I also heard that Daelin is homophobic. Looking at all of these terrible things, I just can't understand why people see him as a hero. It makes my blood boil.

I'm confused as to what this thread is currently talking about.

At first it's Fojar whining, then it turns into... whatever this is.

He was? Well I don't need a reason to dislike the guy, how do you figure that, since warcraft writers make it clear they don't want to discuss homosexuality in wow, and each time a threads brought up on it posters dismiss it as 'don't ask don't tell'
