I don't know about that. Draenei don't suck anymore, now that WoD and Legion have been so good to them.

Because they don't thematically clash too hard to be ignored by the writers.

One thing I really enjoyed about Traveler was Weisman giving all of the characters realistic weapons and generally using them properly.

Now that this cover shows a 17 year old swinging what appears to be a flail with a chain twice the length of her body very improperly I might have to take that back.

for the second book:

"Twelve-year-old Aramar Thorne’s life was turned upside down by the sudden reappearance of his father, Captain Greydon Thorne, who took his son with him on the high seas. After several months aboard Greydon’s ship, it was attacked by a deadly band of raiders known as the Hidden, leaving Aram and Second Mate Makasa Flintwill shipwrecked. But of even greater concern are the unanswered questions his father left behind. Who are the Hidden? And what of the strange compass Greydon gave to him--the compass that doesn’t point north? Aram and Makasa are on a journey to unravel these mysteries, picking up a few friends--and more than a few foes on their travels.

Aram, a once-struggling student in the ways of the world, is now looked to for guidance by his friends as they combat swarms of undead and come face-to-face with the trolls’ mysterious gods. Can Aram be the leader his father always believed he could be?

Includes 17 all-new illustrations!"

Another alternative cover for the Traveler, book 1. It's for a new English edition, and maybe for the French one as well.

Thalyss was a cool character and that's some good art of him, I like it.

I've forgotten to post it here a month ago. <_<

Vol.2 preview -

Artwork of Makasa - https://pp.userapi.com/c824202/v8242...VoO9P6RyQE.jpg

Yay for worldbuilding. A forsaken character from this book uses jasmine water to hide the stench of his rotting body.

The last book established the way how murlocs and gnolls view the world. And here there's a nice part about an ogre villian feeling bad for forcing the Gordunni (including every elder and child) to leave the Dire Maul in order to find our heroes.

There will be an interesting minor character - a Legion nathrezim affliated with the Hidden. Arakkoa "priest" from the Hidden calls the dreadlord "The Herald of the Dark Storm", but I'm not sure that the group serves the Legion as some sort of Shadow Council cell.

The undead mentioned in the preview are from Razorfen. The loa are from Tanaris. And there will be some sort of magical sword later in the plotline. And a dryad character (so she wasn't cut from the plot, huh - https://pp.userapi.com/c836326/v8363...eWy21FYaJs.jpg).

You know... This is the first time I've read anything from the books. Not bad.

However... A compass needle made from pure solidified starlight and containing the celestial spark? Right.

I can't seem to be able to read the preview. Maybe because I already pre-ordered it?

Some stuff from the beginning of vol.2:

Zathra, the Sandfury headhunter from the Hidden wears a huge living scorpid as a chestplate.

Makasa had a brother named "Akashinaga".

Hackle is familiar with yeti's behaviour pattern due to their aggression towards gnolls (for example, they are led by a dominant male - in a similar way, how some of the gnolls tribes are lead by matriarchs (just with a different gender, derp)).

And there's a smart ogre female named Karrga - Throgg has a crush on her.

Found this thread discussing lore from Vol. 2 in MMO-C and I guess you'd like to check it out. Lots of interesting tidbits.
