How essential are some of the aerial abilities? It adds a Z axis to the game but it doesn't seem to be an ability that all the characters have.
The Z axis is majorly important and I much preferred playing characters that could move upwards easily to those that couldn't. But generally there are characters whose roles tend to movement and they have some way of moving up, and those who are more defensive don't. Torbjorn, for instance, has no real reason to do that considering he's about stationary defenses. Once again, Zenyatta is the odd duck out and he really needs to be re-done and get some sort of flight or hover ability or something.

Off the top of my head, all of the damage oriented characters had some kind of Z axis movement (Pharah, Tracer, Reaper and Hanzo), Widowmaker was the only defense oriented character with a Z axis movement (but it makes sense considering sniper perches are high up), Winston, as the more assault-oriented tank had his jump-and-slam, and then Mercy was the only support character with a Z axis.

(and yes, Mercy was actually really fun to play which was surprising)

Can there be multiples of the same Hero played, or are matches restricted to just one of each?

Wouldn't suprise me if this changes wildly between now and release.

Personally? I'd rather not have a repeat of the major problem in TF2 where there's 6 idiots playing Sniper and royally fucking their team over.

One per team sounds a good compromise.

Then again, how does the game decides who get who when people can't agree?
Nah, Blizz hates intra-party conflict, we're going to have multiple on both sides available. I can smell it from here.

You can have as many of a hero as you want as far as I could tell. Dunno if they'll change that by release or not.

But I mean, you shouldn't be screwed over because someone else clicked on Tracer first The real solution to this problem is to make all heroes fun to play

*If the game works with a matchmaking queue* if could be like HotS where you pick your hero and the rest get randomly selected.

Is there any obvious bugs that should be fixed there and now?

Might be a weird quiestion, but sometimes obvious things get overlooked well past the release.

Not that I remember. What was in was functional, though it could've used some tuning.

compared to the faster and more ranged counterparts, how did Reinhardt feel?

Given the total lack of story or logic to the gameplay I can't see why not. If they can have so called heroes slugging eachother in the face for no reason it makes as much sense as there being multiple of the same hero. I was suggesting that they make anti-versions of the heroes to have a Heroes Vs Villains game awhile back rather than hero on hero smash up. But yeah, I can see a queue system where you queue as Tracer and get put into a game 10 hours later for wanting to play the most popular character in the franchise.

You know, not letting gameplay get in the way of the story, and vice versa.
I'm fine with this. It's probably best to keep things simple in this case.

I'm really gratified to see new & interesting games from Blizzard that are actually legitimately cool.

Thanks for taking all these questions, Omacron/Warlock.
