About time that guy showed up.

Lord Arom stood against ten warriors! He fought valiantly and with cunning but he was out numbered and surrounded!

A mighty bellow came from the forest!
The white stag returned and trampled some of the Drust!
The he turned and vanished into the woods. Since then, the valiant and true have found shelter with the White Stag of the forest.
Now that is very interesting. Almost reminds me of how some sources state or imply that Goldrinn has been present on both Azeroth and Draenor.

Though I'm holding out a little hope still.
Ah yes, well established and interesting character, King Rastakhan.

I love the way he's. Uh. A king. Of trolls.

The White Stag isn't Malorne

There's an option to make it almost identical to current one.

Oh. I suppose that's another new Wild God, then.

EDIT: How many new Wild Gods are there in the expansion so far? Kra'gwa (frog), Pa'ku (pterrordax), Rezan (devilsaur), Sethraliss (serpent), and now there's presumably this Athair fellow as well (assuming that he is indeed a full-fledged Wild God).

Not to mention we'll be seeing Hir'eek and what looks like Kimbul in person for the first time.

Apparently 8 :

Pa'ku closes his eyes in the darkness.
Gonk is alone, swimming across a river of gold.
Krah'gwa swallows a herd of blue direhorn.
Bwonsamdi offers a deal with a smirk.
Rezan falls to the ground... dead.
Torcali sleeps.
Shadra's nest is empty.
Gral is pulled into the deep by an unseen hand.

Who is Gral?

Well, he's King of Zandalari and all Trolls, and been blessed by the Loa themselves to act as their voice for some 200 years. And he's been mentioned/around since Vanilla.

Not a lot, I give you that, but definitely some interesting history to him.

I wanted to learn more about Rastakhan since, well, the beginning. The moment I heard about this 'king of trolls' I was like - whoa, he must be badass, I wish we'll meet him one day!

So yeah, he is kinda established lorewise, but he's never been a relevant part of the in-game story in the past.

Where's this from? One of the datamined broadcast texts?

In any case, yeah, Gral and Torcali are new, but Bwonsamdi, Gonk, and Shadra are all pre-existing.

Who is Gral?
Shark Loa.

Torcali is the Direhorn Loa.

Of course, then there's also G'nathus, Oacha'noa, and Shen-zin Su, but we don't know for sure if any of those are Wild Gods or not, and Brann has speculated on the possibility of a lobster Ancient from which the makrura are descended, but like many of his racial lineage theories we've yet to get confirmation on that one.

It's fun to see a distinctly water-themed Wild God, is what I'm trying to say.

Thalyssra and Lasan Skyhorn are part of the mission to free Saurfang. Good to see allied races doing things.

Warlord Kao was actually the main villain of my unpublished Pandaren short story; I think Matt Burns in particular really liked it because he keeps seeding parts of it into the world. I'm actually really honored that a creation of mine is making it into the game.

When you free Saurfang, he refuses to go with you and instead tells the guards to take him to Anduin who he wants to speak to.

Throughout the escape Zul is constantly warning you of incoming guards ahead of time, seeing the future a few seconds ahead. Like he tells the team to jump into the canals before anyone's there, but once you're in the water Anduin appears on the road.

Also, damn you Nazja for putting the thought of making a troll hunter into my head. I'm now even more conflicted.
