Powerful women in (Warcraft) fantasy are usually either made into hideous monstrosities, hypersexualized or given male personas in order to compensate for being equal to (or more powerful than) men. They're also most likely, when being dietys, to rule over things such as childbirth, life and gentleness.

So while it's true that some of the most powerful personas in Azeroth are female, we should also take into consideration what had to be done with these characters in order to allow them to be female. A few examples:

Edit: A little Watcher in the Dark wouldn't be bad either. Probably better as a battle pet, though.

Blegh, pallies don't need pets! We're conduits of the Light itself, forging it into a usable form through our very will, we don't need gilded bloody pigeons to fight for us!

Now if we were transformed into the guardian for the duration of the spell, that would be wholly another matter...
