It was quite good, the pace, the music, the performance and character development of Xavier.

However I think they made Mystique quite dumb, she had such amazing ability and could easily sneak into Trask office, why did she have to try to kill him on those highly secured meetings? Especially after she knew the guy had way to detect her.

And why did Magneto try to kill her right way in the office? Even if he did kill her, it would left blood and still give them their DNA.

Yeah, he looked a lot better than he was in the comics.

Also, is that really Jean Grey? Or Madelyne Pryor?

Nope. The closest we got was The Wolverine where he snikts bubs left and right and uses profane language.

So it's said that Apocalypse takes place before the ending of this movie.

- Will take place in the 80s
- Xavier, Magneto, Beast, and Quicksilver are confirmed to return
- Quicksilver will have an expanded role
- Gambit will be introduced
- The movie will feature extinction level destruction ("like a Roland Emmerich movie")
- Apocalypse's motivations and philosophy will be explored
- His motivations will be persuasive, and he could get some of the "most familiar characters" on his side

I think Sinister might serve as his top lieutenant.

Blink and Quicksilver were awesome.

Mystique is a far more interesting and compelling character in this film than in First Class, IMO.

McAvoy and Stewart were both great as Xavier. McKellen's performance was good but not as good, while Fassbender ranged from competent to amazing.

Jackman was excellent, and the writers balanced his role well with the rest of the cast.

Havoc's cameo was neat.

Trask struck me as a bit bland, but he served his purpose well enough.

It's a pity about all those characters who apparently died off-screen.

Good-bye original X-Men trilogy continuity. You helped set the new comic book movie craze into motion and entertained millions. I salute you.

I'm curious how many bonus scenes there will be in the dvd/blu-ray release. I've gotten the sense that a lot was cut from the film.

Anyway, I greatly enjoyed this film and heartily recommend it to X-Men fans. It's a very fun movie.

Not spoiler tagging this, but will just say spoilers ahead:

Man, one thing I couldn't get out of my head was just how brutal some of the death scenes were. Ripping Ice Man's head off and smashing it, and ripping Colossus in half. Hell, seeing Blink getting stabbed multiple times was pretty damn awful. Sure there's no blood, but that still doesn't make it lose any of its shock factor.

Worst part is that Ice Man and Collossus are my most favorite X-Men other than Wolverine.

I hope so, I also hope it means Sabretooth can come back since he was the best thing about the mess of a Wolverine movie.

Finally saw it as well. Loved it!

This movie seems to have re-ignited my interest for super-hero flicks as well. Thanks to X3 and the latter parts of the original spiderman movies, I lost complete interest in such stuff and stopped going to cinemas altogether (that and my country has this annoying law that films will have all curse words, sex scenes and butt shots censored out along with torturing you by playing the national anthem before the start of every film ) but this movie kept me entertained from start to finish. I was a bit surprised at the brutal deaths of some of the characters as well though I guess the lack of gore made it somewhat tolerable for the more impressionable folks.

I missed the post credits scene sadly though. Was under the impression those scenes role out after the initial credits. I take it you have to wait for the whole credits to finish before you get to it?

Stroke of genius, this movie is. Absolutely brilliant.

En Sabah Nur is my absolute favourite comic figure of all time, Age of Apocalypse is the only comic universe I ever obsessed about.

I stood up clapping in the cinema as soon as I understood the chants in the teaser....worst nerd-out of my entire life.

Why didn't they just ask Quicksilver to help stop Mystique? Even with Xavier, Wolverine and Beast that should be enough. The whole rescue was pointless.

It's a comic book movie - suspend your disbelief!

Also, it wasn't mentioned, but it seems sort of implied that Quicksilver is young, rash and pretty uninterested in the larger affairs going on, the only reason they got him to help with the breakout was because it intrigued him.

I'll admit it was not a disaster like I expected. It was actually pretty good. They could have cut basically all the X-Men out of the movie and it wouldn't have really hurt things, though. Trim the cast down to Wolverine, Charles, Mystique and Magneto and you'd have mostly the same film. Characters would need to do more shit, I guess, but a lot of the X-Men were basically just "I am a different special effect."

I liked it. I just wish that these movies stop focusing on Wolverine so much. Come on, the guy has his own solo movies. I'd prefer more focus on characters like Xavier. Although this movie didn't focus on Wolverine that much as the previous X Men movies did.

I think this movie did something unique with Wolverine by not having him as the ass-kicker and more of a mediator. (He still kicked some ass, but the rest of the cast kicked more if, not just as much.)

No way, Hugh Jackman was just fantastic, Cyclops was a nobody before him.

That's half the fun of these movies!

Finally saw this yesterday and loved it! Quicksilver was such a fucking cutie, and this is probably the most I've liked Wolverine in any of these movies. Hell, this is probably the best of any of these movies. Can't wait for apocalypse!

OH and man, all the future timeline action was so great. Blink is thinking with portals and I LOVE it.

I liked that shot of him towards the end when he's watching Magneto on the screen (with little baby scarlet witch :3) and he just has this horrified "I fucked up" face. It was way beyond him.
