That above is not traditional news, but valid for Identity Politics.

Its funny how those arent mutually exclusive.

You can say what happened without letting how you feel influence it.

True, you can't escape some of your ingrained biases even if you try.

But trying helps a lot. You can filter out the biases you know you have, try to stick with the facts and be reasonable.

It is one thing to try to be objective, another to not even care about the possibility and worst of all to be purposefully biased, aka propaganda.

Comicsgate is the same brand of thinly veiled misogyny and bigotry under the veneer of "pure journalism ethics" that we saw with Gamergate. Total projection and totally disgusting.

I have a question for folks, genuinely, how can people see Antifa as equivalent to or worse than groups like Proud Boys and whatnot?

How is it that we're seeing folks trying to label antifa a terrorist organization when they literally haven't even killed anybody and it's... not even an 'organization' really?

EDIT:
I mean Ffs

It's almost like the people who want to forcibly suppress anti-fascists are actually fascists. Imagine that.

It's not just these people, by the way. Lyin' Ted Cruz submitted a resolution to have us (people against fascism) declared terrorists.

Are you just talking about the American Antifa right now, or AFA as an international movement? Because I don't know about the American ones, but in Europe they don't shy away from using violence and destroying property and throwing around molotovs in the streets in order to further their agenda, which is pretty much a dictionary description of what terrorism is. Terrorism isn't about killing, but spreading your message through fear.

In large they're pieces of shit who use a sense of moral high ground to legitimize their vandalism.

I think the American "branch" is less actively violemt but I can't really see them as equivalent to the groups that they clash with given the difference in scale

Maybe we wouldn't have had Nazi Germany if more people had met them in the street, rather than greeting the Nazis with apathy or ignoring how serious the problem was

That's a gross and ridicolous simplification. And false. And also a pointless hypothetical. In the 1930's in Germany there were several groups, including the ones who would inspire the AFA movement, who had their own paramilitaries that demonstrated and fought against the Nazis rise to power. Germany didn't just roll over in apathy.

Don't compare today's neo-nazi movements to Nazi Germany. It's as ridicolous a comparison as Antifa to Stalin's USSR.

Help me understand from your PoV then, what do you feel are the key differences?

Today's right- and left-wing extremist groups are nowhere near as organized as the groups in the early 1900's, and they are nowhere near as impactful. And maybe most importantly; they don't spring up in places that are risk of falling into revolution, like Russia or Germany were back then.

Demonstrations and political movements in stable and developed countries don't really worry me to the point of comparing them to the worst examples of modern history.

But embrace the differences, Mutters et al.

The left-wing groups in pre-WWII Europe were a LOT MORE violent than the left-wing groups of today. It's at least something sensible to take in from the march of history.

This effectively confirms Russia's control over the NRA goes deeper than initially thought, or at least a lot of dark money was funneled through them.

Lol, President Grump cancelled his state visit to Denmark because of the Greenland-thing.

I'm pretty sure you elected a mentally handicapped person to lead your country. Handicapped and senile.

I've been saying that the whole time, as have many health professionals. There's some sort of dementia or syphilis or something affecting his brain.
