Default Lordaeron City Gym - The Pet Battle Thread.

I was bound to make one of these threads sooner or later in the official forums, rather than continuously hi-jacking the MoP thread.

I have to say, I'm grown even more obsessed with pet battles since I returned to WoW. It's become amongst my main reasons for playing the game.

That being said, the Kun-Lai runt is ridiculous.

The thing about words is that meanings can twist just like a snake, and if you want to find snakes look for them behind words that have changed their meaning.

No one ever said elves are nice.
Elves are bad.

Elaborate.

My 9yo son has been bugging me to fly him around the summit to find and tame a rare one. His toon is only level 85, so navigation of that area for him is a bit tiresome.

It has a stun which ignores stun immunity - which also deals obscene amounts of damage. It's main attack also deals loads of damage, and is often paired with a ridiculously powerful pet - the Anubisath Idol - and it's Sandstorm ability.

It's stats are off of the roof. It's basically a high damage tank.

Ah, and it's a humanoid, so it self-heals by inflicting damage, and destroys dragons.

Hmm. I thought he just wanted one because it looked cool. I should give the boy more credit.

Guess I'd better help him hunt one up.

It's well worth it. It synergies excellently with itself, and with other pets... Such as the aforementioned Anubisath Idol.

It was as good in 5.1 because it's slow didn't apply the chilled effect, but now it does which means that you can stun your foe afterwards and then do double damage with your primary humanoid attack. To cut a long story short, it's the one pet I won't take out of my team for anything.

@Bolvar: You should get your son a breed 4 (power/power) Zandalari Kneebiter.
Black Claw, Hunting Party and Bloodfang is an extremely good combo.

Breeds? I thought rare was the best.

No, it works like in pokmon. Two of the same pets of the same rarity don't necessarily have the same stat allocation. This is determined by breeds.

I have no idea how to determine the breed or where to find that pet...

The Zandalari Kneebiter is BoE, so check the auction house. It drops on Thunder Isle.

I use addons to check my pets breeds. Curse has both PetBattleQualityGlow and BattlePetBreedID.

On another note, I just got a flawless dragon stone. Can't quite decide what to use it on... Perhaps I'll abandon Waltion and tame myself a better breed Onyxian Whelpling. Or maybe catch myself a good breed Nexus Whelp?

You could get the addons Meetra Surik mentioned or check on www.warcraftpets.com.

@Verdande: I also got myself one of those today. Now I have to decided between my Emerald Proto-Whelp and Nexus Whelpling...

I'll use it on Malygos, the Nexus Whelpling.

Also got a Flawless Elemental Stone which I'm thinking of using on Genesis my Withers.

The breed data isn't outright shown by Blizzard and people use addons to see it.

Decided to level a new team, now that Apophis has hit 25.

Smokebladder, Rufin and Kyalin are in for a rough time.

I'm too lazy at the moment to farm a rare dinosaur with the right breed, so Bolvars' been put on hold. Have the same issue with Erthad.

I'm not saying I looked through all 256 of your pets for one named in my honour.

Just like I'm not saying I'll key your car if I don't get one.

Not saying that at all.

Just sniped a Eye of the Legion from the AH. Only cost me 13 K.

I think Nyorloth is an appropriate name for it. Not sure if that counts as naming it after a SoL dude, but still.
