That pic clearly says beta, not alpha. And the beta's not actually open... yet. Just the character copy. So far, only members of the press have got keys, but I'd expect it to start within a few weeks.

Beta, not Alpha. I'm sure the opt-in process won't start for another 2-3 weeks. It's started on Fridays for both Wrath and BC, so I presume they'll follow the pattern?

I think Beta Keys to Joe Six Pack wont start for another week or two. But if this is actually Beta and not Alpha like some sites are claiming, then Press Keys should already have been sent out, or are going to in the next day or two. We should see a bunch of info VERY soon if thats the case.

Update. Yeah, looks like this is legit Beta. Here are some pics that were posted in the comments section on mmo champ from Boub apparently.

http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/...ril/teasez.jpg

Note the Version Number and Liquid Detail Slider.

http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/...il/teasezz.jpg

So if those are legit, and they sure appear to be. Then the Press has gotten keys and the NDA is lifted.

Zahrym just made a blue post to confirm that the F&F Alpha has started.

If you read closely, he stated Friends and Family Testing Phase. He never said Alpha. I wonder if this is an FnF Beta with no NDA.

It's something, doesn't really matter what it is. =P

I'm really going to have to fight the urges this summer to dl a sandbox version like I have in the last 2 exps, I don't want to spoil it just for exploration.

So, Omacron, did you or Warlock get a key for this, seeing as ya'll got invited to the SC2 demo? Would ya'll be considered part of "the press"?

We got invited as part of a fansite program. While I personally do a bit of freelance journalism, I don't qualify as 'press'. I'll let you know when we get keys, if I can.

Which is odd, because Scrolls of Lore is not a StarCraft fansite. With the exception of a few minor threads...

We didn't go on behalf of scrolls of lore. We went on behalf of blizzplanet. SoL is and remains an unofficial fansite on purpose- were we to be an official fansite we'd actually have to care about the content here.

Translation: All public criticism of Blizzard is to be silenced, all inappropriate content will cause an immediate suspension, and under no circumstance would we allow anyone to post any spoilers of future content/tie in stuff.

Being unofficial has its perks.

While World of Warcraft's Terms of Use and End User License Agreement can certainly cause sticky wickets for some, the part about not caring is funny to me. Of course, leniency and a lack of liability are often good things.

Blizzcon or Blizzplanet?

Alpha, Beta, I don't care... I'm just waiting for the spoilers to start.

looks legit. looks like deathwing, but also a lot like other dragons. if it's fake, it's probably HEAVY edit of malygos.

textures on the stones look better to, or that might be my imagination.

Apparently there is a big uproar about that pic though, to the point bibi will ban those who mention it on IRC.

Though this is mainly due to the original being on mmo champs servers.

There is a good chance of it being real due to the water, though he is to small atn =p

Looks real enough, though seems like bits and pieces are unfinished. The textures on the neck vein seem a little bit off though that could be the lighting.

As I said about the picture of the Warlord Titan, if that is supposed to be "mini", then what does "big" look like?
