Ogre The 2015 NFL Thread

Officially, the new league year begins today.

What do we know so far?

1. The wheels have come off the bus in San Francisco. RIP 'niners fans.
2. The Dolphins, who wouldn't tolerate Richie Incognito's bullying, decided to give Suh the biggest contract in history.
3. The Cowboys will probably let their workhorse RB go just to chase the fool's gold that is Adrian Peterson.
4. The Cardinals are very quietly making some very smart moves so far.
5. Chip Kelly has gone full retard

Feel free to add to the list!

Thamba Hali takes a $3 million cut to stay with the Chiefs and is an all around good guy!

You have an aging, but otherwise solid, running back to help out Andrew Luck.

Guess he decided not to join the circus in Philadelphia...

So uhh, the whole LA thing.

I think the NFL would rather have 2 teams in LA but the Carson plan seems more rushed and reactionary to the Inglewood one to me.

Wow.... that's really all I can say. I don't think that anyone, myself included, saw the Saints trading away Graham for Unger.

Defenitly gives us a deep/red zone threat that we didn't have before. While I'm sad to see Unger go, it was clear that while he was out we could still win.

Darrelle Revis goes back to the Jets...

And I really don't know what's going on in Philly.... They resign Sanchez and now have traded away Foles for Bradford...

Rams made out like bandits. Foles is an upgrade over the Sam "Glass" Bradford.

And it looks like the Inglewood is still on track for the Rams. Guess that it's all part of trying to rebrand the team in STL before the move.

EDIT: And now there are rumors that the Saints are shopping Brees to the Bucs...

I think that Chip wants to remake the team in his own image, similar to what PC/JS did in their first years, except this is all under the thumb of one guy.

But according to Gore, he didn't like the "overbearingness" of Kelly and one of the players in an interview all but called out kelly as a racist. So things are very interesting in Philly and the fans are melting down at this point....

College coaches? College coaches are weak. The Blood of Jimmy Johnson is all but spent, its pride and dignity forgotten. It is because of College coaches the spread offense survives. I was there, Gandalf. I was there a dozen years ago. I was there the day the strength of Steve Spurrier failed.

FWIW - I am not the only one to make this observation:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...ed-his-gators/

It is folly. It's a disaster. All that remains is for Kelly to trade away Philadelphia's draft future for the next 3-4 years to draft Mariota, and in 8 months, the team will be staring at a losing record, no hope to rebuild, and an overpaid whackjob coach that they'll have to pay to fire.

Kelly will be fine - he'll get a job coaching another big college program. But the Eagles? The Eagles won't recover from this for a decade. And I'm fine with it... let the circus visit another town in the NFC East for a change. Perhaps the Redskins can use the diversion to salvage the Gruden/Griffin dynamic and grow better with patience under a smart new GM.

I guess that Philly didn't learn it's lesson last year and decided that they are better off with Sanchez as their starting QB.

I guess that the NFC East is once again Dallas' to lose.

And Santa Clara finished the first day by re-signing one of the cornerstones of the franchise. Blaine Gabbert.

How many times am I allowed to post the full retard gif for Chip Kelly in this thread? 300? 500? I feel like I'm gonna need to set that cap really high...

The best thing Dallas can do right now is not re-sign Murray for a ton of money, and NOT trade for Adrian Peterson for a ton of draft picks. With their o-line, they should draft some hungry scrub in round 4, and ride that horse until the wheels fall of (just like they did to Murray)

Washington can't really do much in free agency - their strategy is to win in the draft, and they should stick to it.

I am on pins and needles with the draft just to see what Philly does, and to see what happens with Mariota. There is just so much going on...

Brees could be in TB, Washington has even been linked to Mariota, and just who will do a "RGIII" trade to move up!

I just don't see Washington drafting another QB that high right now...

It was in one of the football sites I frequent. It tied in with the conversation that JS had with Loomis prior to the Graham trade and was asking if there was anyone on the Saints that was untouchable and the response was a simple "No".

Now this is delightful....

Pretty sure the Cowboys could slap Hugh Hefner behind that line and he'd have a 1,000 yard + rushing season.

Murray signs on with full retard.

Expect Jerry Jones to overpay for Adrian Peterson now. Perhaps Minnesota can finally avenge themselves of the Herschel Walker trade...

Well the rumor mill is spinning that the Bucs are serious about pursuing Adrian Peterson too, I hope it isn't true.

Sports radio in Phoenix is giddy over the possibility of Adrian Peterson getting traded to the Cardinals.

I don't really think it'll happen, unless there's a real possibility he decides to holdout against the Vikings.

I dunno... Do the Cards have the cap space, even after Palmer restructered his... and who is backing up Palmer anyways?

But PJ will be happy, the Colts are now Vegas favorite to win the Super Bowl.

Which I can't understand because they don't have a defense.....
