Around June 10, when the Warcraft movie hit theatres in the United States, I saw a few Warcraft books originally published between 2001-2006 listed as pre-orders (coming November 16, 2016).

The pre-orders are now disabled and not listed in search.

Among them were The Last Guardian and Lord of the Clans. Surprisingly, the Warcraft manga as well under publisher Blizzard Entertainment, series: Blizzard Manga.

I managed to take a screenshot of the pre-order. Something wicked coming Fall 2016?

UPDATE (June 29): Pre-orders are back:

Hopefully means they're re-releasing all of those as part of a collection. I know there's a demand for them and people have been having a lot of trouble finding them. Sometimes Golden announces on twitter that she's got copies of her older books but you're pretty much shit outta luck for the other ones.

Pre-orders are back for the Blizzard Legends Series: Lord of the Clans, The Last Guardian, and Rise of the Horde. The Manga is still disabled.

All 3 books are already featured in collections. How are these different than the WarCraft Archive and Chronicles of War?

They are reprints, but the most striking difference is that the original and the collection were published by Simon & Schuster's Pocket Star Books, and this new reprint is published by Blizzard Entertainment under the Blizzard Legacy Books.

So it's big in that it seems Blizzard acquired the license rights, the way they did so with TOKYOPOP's Warcraft manga.

Hmm, hmm, the cover is once again pretty neat. I like how Gul'dan serves a counterpart to Medivh, and how the whole style visualizes the Age of Chaos the book is set in.

Isn't volume 2 about Draenor up to the Dark Portal?

Actually, it is Draenor, the First War, the Second War and probably Beyond the Dark Portal (not sure about that one, but I will ask).

And the third book is about Third War and apparently some of the WoW events too.

Micky Neilson confirmed in his latest Newsletter that the Overwatch: First Strike (PDF/Digital) is coming on November 2016.

Dark Horse isn't offering a pre-order. I'll update once the order page goes live.

Huh, wonder who those two at the bottom of the cover are?

Ehhh, don't panic or anything but the Overwatch: First Strike pre-order page got the pre-order button disabled. Date was changed to January 1, 2035.

Something odd going on. Hopefully it is not cancelled. It could also be that the title has been changed to something else, and waiting for new UPC/ISBN code. Or something else.

Looks like First Strike has been canceled.

A shame because not only was I looking forward to it, but it was also probably Micky's last work as as Blizz employee. Here's looking to the future and whatever replaces it I guess.

Hi guys. It's been a long time. It has come to my attention there is likely a new World of Warcraft novel in the horizon: November 13, 2017 (Germany) by Panini.

World of Warcraft: Troll Wars by Paul S. Kemp -- http://warcraft.blizzplanet.com/blog...rs-paul-s-kemp

ISBN-10: 3833235373
ISBN-13: 9783833235375

I am still investigating, and will update as soon as I fetch something.

Quote:
OPINION: Considering we are in Legion, and soon going to Argus, it is shocking to see Blizzard pursuing to launch new novels that are not based on upcoming World of Warcraft expansions -- except for the Chronicle Volumes (which are not novels, anyway). This would certainly be a whole different philosophy and approach by the new Creative Team hunchos, if true.

Unless, to move forward into Argus, we need to go to the past, or to Troll lands in search of knowledge or tools to help us defeat the Legion in Argus. After all, the Zandalari somehow managed to bring Lei Shen back to life. Maybe they have inherited ancient Titan knowledge or something akin to the Pillars of Creation; and by learning about the Troll Wars, we can see into something Blizzard wants us know about linked to a upcoming expansion.

Rise of the Horde was a prelude to Burning Crusade, for example. It was published on December 2006.

Burning Crusade launched on January 13, 2007.

Did anyone notice the launch date for World of Warcraft: Troll Wars?

November 13 ... that is nine days after BlizzCon.

If this is really a novel about the Troll Wars, great, though not so suprising, frankly. We were told multiple times that Chronicle would serve a foundation for many other works to come, I know there was some mention of the War of the Three Hammers as well.

Troll expansion confirmed.

But seriously, I am very hype about this! If Blizz is serious about building their world's, imaging all the novels like this one we might one day get!

For example, a WotA one which could be called "Stormrage" or something.
